Information about the SCADA system and the advantages of the

SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition)

This system is based on computers and is an automatic remote control system. The system is used in many sectors of the economy and is also successfully used in power supply systems.

The main task of the system is to create a visual connection between the controlled energy system and the dispatcher (staff). With the help of this system, the following is possible: control and management of electrical equipment, perform urgent operational actions, analyze units and parts of electrical devices, take measurements and create reports. In addition, the program also has wide opportunities in determining the direction of electrical energy, monitoring the quality of this electricity and in introducing monitoring.

In “Azərişıq” ASC, the SCADA remote control system was built in January of 2010 and is currently being used successfully. With confidence we can say that in a short time the connection of all power and separation substations to this system indicates the irreplaceable role of the SCADA system in the electrical network. If in any substation connected to this system, an accident, loss of electricity or power failure occurs, the system sends a special alarm signal to the Central Dispatch Service and this is displayed on the monitor of the dispatcher. The supervisor who oversees this, immediately identifies the electrical equipment in which the accident occurred, the cause of the accident and, in a short time, eliminates the accident. Thus, interruptions in power supply do not appear.

But, from substations and from networks that were not connected to the SCADA system, information about short circuits, voltage losses, automatic disconnections, or other emergency situations does not come directly from the system, but through local district networks, from subscribers, from calls enrolled in the "Hot Line" or in the "Emergency Service 199". Despite the fact that the on-duty dispatcher sends an operational service to the scene of the accident, the time of liquidations for subjective reasons (getting to the accident site, viewing the accident zone, traffic jams, etc.) is prolonged and therefore it causes discontent among consumers. Therefore, at the moment the most promising and optimal control system is the SCADA remote control system.
